Volume 1 Daily Devotional Series From Pastor Steve Thompson

July 31, 1998

Hi everyone!
Title: "In Big Demand"
Scripture: Proverbs 25:19
(Like a bad tooth and an unsteady foot Is confidence in a faithless man in time of trouble.)

People who have little interest in God tend to become very spiritual during difficult times.  It has been said that there are no atheist in foxholes!  One thing is for sure, Christ receives more attention and hears more prayers when the chips are down than when all seems to be going well.  The same is true for those who faithfully follow the Lord.  Your co-workers, neighbors and even family members may have little time for you when their life is trouble free. However, let the clouds of life’s storms roll in and they quickly seek your advice and help.  All of this may appear hypocritical (and it is), however, it is good to know that even the lost recognize that God’s people are worthy of their trust.  They are not like the faithless whose friends have grown accustom to being disappointed.  Therefore, you should not be surprised when tumultuous times transform you into a hot commodity.  Just make sure that those benefiting your help also receive your witness of God’s love through Jesus Christ!
Have a great weekend in the Lord!
Steve
